Proper chain maintenance extends the life of your drivetrain and keeps your shifting smooth. This video guide was filmed on the Shred/Quad but applies to all Surface 604 models with chain drivetrains.
Clean and lube your chain every 200-300 km (or after any wet/muddy ride). Check chain wear every 1,000 km. Replace the chain when a chain checker tool shows 0.75% stretch.
Surface 604 bikes use KMC chains. Visit our Parts department for replacement chains compatible with your model.
