Your Surface 604 arrives partially assembled in a protective shipping box. The frame, motor, and most components are pre-assembled. You'll need to attach the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, and seat. Everything you need is included — tools, charger, and instructions. Most riders are ready to ride in 20 minutes.

Range depends on assist level, terrain, rider weight, and conditions. With our 960Wh battery: Eco mode (PAS 1) delivers 96–120 km (60–75 miles). Standard mode (PAS 3) delivers 48–60 km (30–37 miles). Throttle only delivers 40–53 km (25–33 miles). We publish honest range estimates — not lab-condition fantasies.

Watt-hours (Wh) measure the total energy stored in the battery. Our 48V 20Ah battery holds 960Wh — that's 31% more than the Aventon Level 3 (708Wh), 43% more than the Lectric XPress (672Wh), and nearly double the Velotric Fold 1 Plus (499Wh). More Wh means more range, more hill-climbing power, and more rides between charges.

A full charge from empty takes approximately 5–6 hours with the standard 2A charger. With our optional 48V 4A Fast Charger ($99), charge time drops to about 3 hours. We recommend charging after every ride for the best battery longevity.

Yes. Every Surface 604 battery is UL 2271 certified (the standard for lithium-ion battery safety), and every Surface 604 eBike is UL 2849 certified (the standard for the complete electrical system). We carry BOTH certifications — many competitors certify only the battery but skip the full system certification.

Cold temperatures (below 5°C / 40°F) can reduce battery range by 10–20%. We recommend storing your battery indoors between rides during winter and starting your ride with a warm battery. Our 960Wh capacity gives you a larger buffer than competitors, so even with cold-weather range loss, you'll still ride farther.

Every Surface 604 is Class 3 capable — up to 45 km/h (28 mph) with pedal assist. Throttle tops out at 32 km/h (20 mph) per Canadian and US Class 2 regulations. Full 28 mph speed is unlockable through the display settings.

Class 3 eBikes are pedal-assist bikes that can reach up to 28 mph (45 km/h) with motor assistance while pedaling. Surface 604 bikes ship at 20 mph throttle speed to comply with regulations, but pedal assist can be unlocked to the full 28 mph Class 3 speed where permitted.

A torque sensor measures how hard you're pedaling and adjusts motor power proportionally. The harder you push, the more the motor helps. This creates a natural, intuitive riding experience — unlike cadence sensors that deliver power in an on/off fashion. Our dropout torque sensor design is exceptionally smooth and can be replaced in 20 minutes.

Most Surface 604 eBikes come in two sizes: S/M (fits riders 5'2" to 5'7") and M/L (fits riders 5'8" to 6'6"). We recommend the S/M for riders under 5'8" and M/L for riders 5'8" and above. Check the size guide on each product page for model-specific recommendations.

Our frames are designed with longer head tubes for an upright riding position, adjustable stems for precise handlebar positioning, and ergonomic handlebars for a relaxed wrist angle. This means less fatigue, better visibility in traffic, and the ability to ride comfortably for hours — not minutes.

All Surface 604 eBikes include a comprehensive 2-year warranty covering all components — frame, motor, battery, controller, display, and torque sensor. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and does not cover normal wear, crash damage, or unauthorized modifications.

Every replacement part is in stock and ready to ship. We've standardized our components: one torque sensor design since 2020, three controller variants since 2020, one battery form factor since 2018. When competitors take 2 months to deliver parts, we take 2 days. Most repairs can be done at home in 20 minutes with basic tools.

Yes. We use industry-standard components — Tektro hydraulic brakes, Shimano and SRAM drivetrains, standard bottom brackets, and common wheel sizes. Any competent bike shop can service the mechanical components. For electrical components (motor, controller, battery, display), our parts are designed for easy swap-and-replace.
